This is a 12-hour training course that can be done over 2 full days of 4 half days/nights.
This highly effective training covers Anxiety, Suicide, Depressive disorders, Psychosis and substance use. Training is delivered using case studies, group work, videos and discussion based input to ensure all learning styles are catered for.
Course aim: To increase the knowledge and confidence of participants to enable them to provide first aid and support for people experiencing a mental health problem.
Course overview: Many people are unsure how to respond to someone who appears to be experiencing a mental health problem. This course provides participants with the knowledge and confidence to recognise mental health problems, to respond helpfully and support the person's recovery. It will be valuable for employers who have concerns about the well-being of their staff, mainly because it highlights the different behaviours associated with mental health conditions within the workplace, as well as ways of managing and containing those behaviours.
