The Havening Technique® works by applying gentle touch to the arms, the hands and the face to de-link and permanently remove the way the mind and body has stored events. It is this removal that literally disconnects the recalled memory from its emotional content, thus detaching the individual from the event. This technique affects and works on the amygdala in your brain, this part of our brain is home of our fight or flight response. It therefore works brilliantly with anxiety, fears, phobias, panic and other emotions that are driven by this part of the brain.
Additionally the calming effects means that it also encourages the brain to be able to freely associate, undercover and release other connected negative emotions or experiences which we have had.
Havening is not just for the more negative issues!
The Havening Technique® induces a calmer state of consciousness similar to being in a mild and gentle hypnosis, while totally conscious of what is going on and being in complete control, this approach provides a way to deeply focus on what you want in life or how you want to feel. This can be put to great use by exploring yourself and your unconscious mind to provide suggestions or directions, just as you would receive in hypnotherapy.
The beauty is this is initiated and guided by you.
